Hi @JudyLJPro,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301 fdn is not printing in color, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Check Toner Levels: Ensure that the color toner cartridges have sufficient toner. If any of the color toner cartridges are empty or low, replace them with new ones.
- Color Printing Settings: Make sure that your print settings are configured to print in color. When you select the print option, go to the printer settings and confirm that the color option is selected.
- Driver Settings: Update or reinstall the printer drivers on your computer. Sometimes, outdated or corrupt drivers can lead to printing issues. You can download the latest drivers from the official HP website.
- Color Mode: Check if the printer is set to grayscale or black and white mode. In the printer settings or on the printer control panel, ensure that the color mode is set to color.
- Print Quality Settings: Verify that the print quality settings are set to a color mode. Sometimes, the printer might be set to a draft or monochrome mode, causing it to print in black and white.
- Test Print: Print a test page with colors to determine if the issue is with a specific document or with the printer itself. This can help narrow down the problem.
- Check for Error Messages: Look for any error messages or warning lights on the printer's control panel. These can provide valuable information about what might be causing the issue.
- Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. HP releases firmware updates to address various issues, and updating the firmware might resolve the problem.
- Color Calibration: Some printers have a color calibration option. Check the printer's manual for instructions on how to calibrate the color settings.
- Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with the color printing components of the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
