HP Color Laser NW 150
I’m posting here even though I’ve basically lost hope of solving the issue.
This printer, after just a few months of use (about 20–30 printed pages per month!), started showing a “ghosting effect.” I’ve already checked cleaning, firmware, drivers, etc., and even replaced the toner (€50) with a new one, but the problem persists.
There’s no physical damage or impact to any internal components, since the printer has always been kept in a fixed spot, in a very clean and dry environment.
HP support in Italy seems to be non-existent!
I really hope I’ll never have to use HP products again.

Hi @matte76,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We truly understand how disheartening it is to experience persistent ghosting issues on your HP Color Laser NW 150 printer, especially after investing in a new toner and maintaining the device in a clean, dry environment. You've done everything right, and we’re here to help you move forward.
Steps to Fix Ghosting
Here’s the official HP guide tailored for your printer model: 👉 HP Color Laser 150 printers - Fixing poor print quality | HP® Support
Step-by-Step Actions:
- Check Paper Type & Quality
- Use LaserJet-compatible paper only.
- Avoid wrinkled, glossy inkjet paper or rough textures.
- Inspect Toner Cartridges
- Remove each cartridge and check the memory chip for damage.
- Ensure cartridges are genuine HP and properly seated.
- Examine the Imaging Drum
- Carefully remove the drum (avoid touching the surface).
- Look for scratches, fingerprints, or toner buildup.
- Replace the drum if any damage is visible.
- Clean the Printer Internals
- Power off and unplug the printer.
- Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to gently clean inside.
- Let it dry completely before reassembling.
- Reinstall Components
- Reinsert the drum, toner collection unit, and cartridges.
- Power on and print a test page.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi VikramTheGreat,
below are my responses.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing new to try that I haven’t already done.
1) I only use standard office paper, never low-quality paper
2) I purchased the ORIGINAL HP toner, never used compatible ones
3) Already done
4) Already done
5) Already done
