I have done all the steps at least twice but the error still persists and sayd "Supply Problem" with a question mark on all four toners.

I have tried all the steps to regain access to my printer.  Nothings helps.  I, also use after-market toners, and would like to downgrade my firmware driver.  However, my printer does not allow me to get the the service area soon enough to set the allow downgrade.  It immediately sends the Error 79 message.

I'm grateful for your downgrade solution.  Now, if I can just get it to work.  Any further suggestions?

@Kumar0307 - While I know moderating and participating in these forums are an extracurricular activity you participate in beyond your day jobs, I would suggest that you share this information with parties within the organization who can provide transparency regarding this firmware update. I would think if criticisms are inaccurate you would like to respond.

If HP intentions are as described in this thread HP should stand by their decision and take accountability and notify their customers. You do not only hurt the reputation of the brand but also force each of your employees to face the criticisms of the public and consumers. Accountability is not a bad word but rather the responsibility of an organization.

I believe this is your mission statement:

"HP mission statement is “we earn customer respect and loyalty by consistently providing the highest quality and value. We achieve sufficient profit to finance growth, create value for our shareholders and achieve our corporate objectives."

Have you been true to your mission statement in this case?

I have the same problem except that before I saw this site, I uninstalled/reinstalled my printer, except now I can't get the driver to install.  I am legit so frustrated.  I also use a third party toner/ink cartridge.  Does anyone have any idea how I can update the driver?  I've tried all kinds of sites.  This has turned into an hours-long project and I have Finals in a few days.  Help...?

I have run into the same problem as everyone else but can't install the firmware because the printer keeps on rebooting between showing the Supply Problem message.

Any other suggestions?

I followed what this guy said and it worked. Previous firmware 20200612 from his post.

I kept my finger on the printer screen and moved it while transferring the downgrade from my PC.  For some reason it helped keep the "Service Error 79" bootloop from reoccurring long enough to accept the downgrade.

Best of luck for those who are still stuck in this mess
