Where can I find the older drivers for a MAC?

Here is another solution from a MacOS user.

Bear in mind he has a different model printer so the firmware file is different, but the steps should be the same. Our model's firmware can be found in the same ftp repository he has linked.

I have successfully downgraded the firmware. The Firmware Datecode on the printer panel shows "20200612". However, the problem persists. On the printer panel, it still shows "Supply Problem". One of my toner cartridges is not HP 202A. Still, my printer does not print because of this "Supply Problem". Please help!

To make sure, I went back to HP_LaserJet_Pro_M280_M281_Printer_series_20190419.rfu - one from 2019. It is on that FTP server linked on the 2nd page of this thread.

@SeekSolution the 20200612 version of the firmware does have a setting to disable the OEM supply checkup. It might be enabled. I dont remember how to get to the setting on the printer's menu, but check under the supply options.

I have a M254dw with the same problem.  Shows: Supply problem.  with ? on all the cartridges.  Clicked on the ? on touchpad and it says that the indicated supplies are not communicating correctly with the printer.  Try reinstalling the supplies.  If the problem persists, replace the supplies to continue printing.

Can't get the printer to work.  Tried resetting and going to System Setup and clicking on supply settings and Cartridge Protection, then off. Cartridge Policy, off. Nothing works!!

@CPMOCK That is strange because I did roll back using that firmware and It went back to normal, but I noticed all the firmware files for the various printer models having this issue were updated on the FTP site, yesterday 11/10/2020 @ 1255 (12:55 pm).

@CPMOCK, I found a temporary solution for printing. Here is what I did. I sent a document to the print for printing. The printer panel said "Supply Problem" and the printer made some noise but no document was printed.  Then I went to "System Setup" -> "Supply Settings" -> "Cartridge Policy", switch "off" to "Authorized HP". Strangely, the document WAS printed immediately after I made this change. But if I print another document, it won't work. Again, I need to switch "Authorized HP" to "off" in order to print out another document. I know it's strange, but it worked for me. Each time after I sent a document to the printer for printing, I had to made a change to the option of "Cartridge Policy" in order to make the printer actually print it out.  But after the printing, either the message "Unauthorized xxxx cartridge is installed " or the message "Supply Problem" will show on the panel and the printer won't enter energy saving state.

All this happened after I successfully downgraded the firmware to 20200612. I haven't tried 20190419.

I followed the steps from Atdallas and was able to find the HP_LaserJet_Pro_M280_M281_Printer_series_20200612.exe file online at: [content removed.]

I changed the Allow Downgrade = Yes setting and tried to run the exe file but the printer did not seem to be in a "Ready" mode since it still showed the SUPPPLY PROBLEM error so the file would not run.

So I removed the printer cartridges and ran the exe.  The printer seemed to accept the firmware file then and the screen said "Programming" then restarted itself - but then it gave me the Install Cartridges message.   I did that and all works fine!

Went back in as Atdallas suggested and changed to the Allow Updates = No setting.

Thanks to Atdallas for showing us the way.  Good luck!!

I fortunately had a previous copy of the firmware. I loaded and ERROR 79 and complaints about the cartridges disappeared.
