I have an HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M555dn that is making a grinding noise while printing. I have removed all cartridges and replaced them with new. I also put them in one at a time and test for noise. Noise isn't present until I put yellow in. I have put several different yellow cartridges in to rule out  the cartridge. It happens to all of them. I have taken tray 2 away to isolate that as well and only use the manual feed of tray 1.  Any ideas?

If you only get noise from the yellow cartridge that would suggest a problem with the yellow drive motor. Open the front door and remove the yellow cartridge and examine the cartridge area for spilled toner. There have been issues with leaking toners on this model and the toner migrates into both the drive and the optics causing accelerated wear creating noise as well as print defects.

I don't see toner spillage, but I have had one leak in the past. Can this be fixed or is it even worth it?

If it is simply the drive motor for the yellow toner it can be fixed. It is difficult to be definitive without seeing it. Likely looking at a couple of hours of labor plus whatever parts you need.
