I have an HP D4360 printer, it's been working great for years. Now with mac OS 10.15.7, it no longer works and says "Unable to use legacy USB class driver" when I look at the printer through CUPS, the printer queue says "Filter "failed. I've uninstalled, manually deleted, wiped everything for its drivers, restarted, reinstalled, you name it, it keeps coming up with the same error. Is this a mac OS issue, mac security issue, or an HP driver issue with the OS? Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds almost identical to my problem. iMac and have used my HP Deskjet 4360 for years. Now with Catalina I suddenly cannot print. I reinstalled both printer and driver. Cord is excellant. restarted, etc. Done all the diagnostics. Frustrated. Neither Apple nor HP seems to have any answer. Guess it is time for a new printer.

This package has updated certificates, which is what is likely causing your problem.

Download, install, then, if necessary, uninstall and reinstall your printer!

I appreciate the offer, but after trying 5 X I cannot get it to successfully download. It gets to 44 megs and stops. I am excited to get it to try it out.

Leave it alone. It does end up downloading all the way eventually.
