HP DESKJET 2540 Forgot HP Wireless DIrect Password need Factory Reset of printer

Dear Sir or Madame,

simple question, i forgot my passwort for my Direct Print because i alwas used my wifi network but i want to use direkt printing again, how can i factory reset my printer?

Just print out the Network Config page to see your password.

Print network configuration page.
The network configuration page will display the network status, hostname, network name, and more.

Press the Wireless button and the Start Copy Black button from the printer control panel at

I CHANGED MY PASSWORT IN THE EWS so i dont know how it was and i cannot login to my printer

Try restoring the Network back to default.  Now start all over.

Restore network settings to default settings.

Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for 5 seconds.

Hi Sabret i did that and i cannot find my Printer in the Wireless Settings, the Direct printing button is flashing white bbut my WIFI Button is Blinking blue so i think i cannot connect to my Printer with Default passwort, because it didnt print the Page with a default password for my direct Printing. As i said i changed it in the EWS, is there no possibility to factory Reset to default and start all over with default settings?

Hi i cannot find any solution with troubleeshooting and the user manual isn`t showing how to perform a factory reset. I can Wipe my Ipod Toch my Tablet and my Samsung Galaxy s8 to Factory but i cannot wipe my Printer. I think this is poor and i won`t buy another HP Printer at all. Thank you for your help .
