I have a new HP Deskjet 2622 printer and it is running out of ink, no big deal, bought one of each in dual pack. BUT when I went to check it out closer, there is an additional error icon on the ink cartridge part that I can't find info on and am not going to open and install new ($30) ink to find out that wasn't the problem.
IT shows my tri-color light on, okay need tri-color ink, totally true from last pix I printed. BUT it show the black is good but the black is NOT printing (as in I tried to copy something in black and nothing but the slight color printed. When I tried to copy exclusively with the black, nothing at all.
The icon shows the ink levels, BUT there is a 3rd icon in the middle between the two showing the ink levels of the tri-color and black, WHAT is that telling me because I havent' a clue. Its a standing rectangle between the two levels on that ink icon display.
Thanks

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
Please do send us a picture third icon that you're referring to. Meanwhile, you may try updating the Printer's firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
Restarting the printer can sometimes resolve an ink cartridge error.
-
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
-
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
If the issue persists, please perform the remaining steps from this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-2600-all-in-one-printer-series/12319824/model/167792...
