Hi @TS1228k

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2700 All‑in‑One printer is failing alignment and not printing black even after cleaning the printheads. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check cartridge installation

Open the cartridge access door and remove the black cartridge.

Reinstall it firmly until it clicks into place.

Verify cartridge type

Make sure you are using genuine HP 305 or HP 305XL cartridges (depending on your region).

Non-HP or incompatible cartridges can cause alignment and print failures.

Run printhead cleaning cycles

From the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app, go to Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.

Run the cleaning cycle up to 3 times, allowing the printer to rest between cycles.

Perform printhead alignment manually

Go to Printer Maintenance → Align Printhead.

If the alignment fails, try printing a test page first, then retry alignment.

Check ink levels

Low or empty black ink can prevent proper alignment.

Replace the cartridge if the ink level is critically low.

Inspect cartridge nozzle and contacts

Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth.

This helps restore communication between the cartridge and printer.

Try a different black cartridge

If possible, install another genuine HP black cartridge.

A faulty cartridge can cause both alignment failure and missing black output.

Update printer firmware

Use the HP Smart app or HP’s support site to check for firmware updates.

I hope this helps.
