Hi @IronNext,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2724 printer where it's printing empty letters despite having original inks and the test page printing normally. This can be frustrating, but there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Check Ink Levels: Even though you mentioned that you have original inks, it's worth checking the ink levels through the printer's software or control panel to ensure that the ink cartridges are not running low.
- Clean the Print Heads: Over time, print heads can become clogged or dirty, which can result in poor print quality. Most printers have a built-in utility for cleaning the print heads. Consult your printer's manual or the manufacturer's website for instructions on how to do this.
- Alignment and Calibration: Printers often have alignment and calibration settings that ensure the print heads are properly aligned with the paper. Run a print head alignment and calibration process to ensure accurate printing.
- Update or Reinstall Drivers: Sometimes, driver issues can cause printing problems. Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your laptop and mobile phone. If you're using outdated or incompatible drivers, this could lead to printing issues.
- Check Print Settings: Ensure that your print settings are configured correctly. Make sure you're not accidentally printing in "Draft" mode, which might result in faint or empty prints. Also, check that you're printing in color and not grayscale.
- Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes, a hard reset can clear minor issues.
- Inspect for Physical Obstructions: Check the printer for any paper jams or physical obstructions that could be affecting the printing process.
- Test a Different Document: Try printing a different document or image. If the problem persists only with a specific document, there might be an issue with that file.
- Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your printer. Be aware that this will reset all settings to their default values, so make sure you have any necessary configuration information handy before proceeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
