My HP DeskJet 2755 printer has been stuck in an error state, the tiny screen has a blinking E, then the "i" and "color cartridge" lights are blinking and nothing can print. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi @DevonNeisen,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The blinking "E" and flashing "i" and color cartridge lights on your HP DeskJet 2755e printer typically indicate an issue with the color cartridge or a general printer error. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check the Ink Cartridges

  • Open the printer door to access the cartridges.
  • Remove the color cartridge carefully.
  • Check for obstructions like packaging materials or tape that may have been left on the cartridge.
  • Reinsert the cartridge firmly into its slot.
  • Close the door and check if the error clears.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the color cartridge.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer.
  • Allow the contacts to dry completely, reinsert the cartridge, and power the printer back on.

Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer from the power source while it’s turned on.
  • Wait about 60 seconds and then plug the printer back in.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error is resolved.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Go to the HP Smart App or the HP website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Install updates if necessary.

Try a Different Cartridge

  • If the error persists, try using a new or different color cartridge to rule out the possibility of a faulty cartridge.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
