HP Deskjet 3637
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to print a 1 page job, shouldn't be a big deal.

But when I turn the printer on (HP DeskJet 3637) the orange light next to the ( i )  button keeps flashing until I press it.

When I do it prints a "Printer Status Report" and goes back to flashing orange. I press the button again and it prints

another Status Report and will not let me print the job that I got at all.

I have turned it off and on again but the orange light persists, what can I do??

(I have included a pic of the button & light that are the issue.)

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that the information button is blinking on your printer, I am glad to assist you to fix this issue for you.

Are you getting any error messages on the computer?

Meanwhile:-

Perform a power reset on the printer to do a hard reset.

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates for the printer.

Here are the steps:- click here

Let me know how it goes.

No, the issue has no been resolved.

Beside what I described above, on the tiny 'viewing window' there's

an icon of an "envelop with a drop" flashing.

I could not find what it means on the documentation that came with the printer.

Got two questions about this:

1) What does that "envelop with a drop" icon mean?

2) Where can I download the manual for the printer I have mentioned above??

Here are the answers to your questions.

1) That is Resume button: Resumes a job after a disruption (for example, after loading paper or clearing a paper jam).

Resume light: Indicates the printer is in a warning or error state.

2) Here is the link to download the user manual:- Click here

Keep me posted.
