Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try to reset the Printer here:
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Also, try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks, Betty. It sort of helps. I mean, I'd already reset the product several times before I posted my query. Nonetheless, I reset it again. I also looked for a firmware update, but there isn't one. Following the most recent reset, the test page printed rapidly, but it reports the same error code. I tried printing the email from HP. It worked! However, as soon as the 2-page message printed, the printer then (seemingly of its own accord) print another test page, made an horrifically loud noise, and indicated yet another error with power and resume lights blinking in synchrony.
