Good day to HP Support,

My HP printer (HP DeskJet 5820) is currently having a problem, and it looks like I will need to bring it again to HP Service Center.

Are the following details of HP Service Center still correct?

  • 1/F Accelerando Bldg, 395 Sen. Gil J. Puyat Ave, Makati, 1200
  • phone number: 8772-5060
  • Monday-Friday (except Holidays) from 8:30am-5:30pm
  • walk-in customers are welcome; no need to inform HP Service Center in advance

problem description:

My HP printer (HP DeskJet 5820) could not be detected by my laptop.
In Windows: Device and Printers page, the icon for my HP printer indicates "Offline" status, even while my HP printer is connected to my laptop's USB port.
This behavior persists even after I have tried the following tasks many times:

  • Unplugged and replugged the USB cable at the back of my HP printer.
  • Connected my HP printer's cable to each of the available USB ports of my laptop.
  • Rebooted my HP printer. (powered off, then powered on)
  • Rebooted my laptop.

For reference, my printer's product information are listed below:

(printed out from HP Printer Status Report)

  • HP printer model: HP DeskJet GT 5820 all-in-one printer
  • model number: 5820
  • serial number: [Personal Information Removed]
  • product number: M2Q28A

3. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
4. If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on and then click Retry.
5. If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
6. If the screen displays prompting to turn on printer updates, click Yes and continue.
