Hi there,

I can't make this printer work in my computer. The system recognizes it, when I ask to print, the icon appears in the bar, but immediately disappears and nothing happens. Can someone help me?

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. 

 

I understand that you have an HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 1115 Printer and it does not print from Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The Mac recognizes the printer and when you try to print, the icon appears and then disappears and nothing prints. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you. 

 

  • When was the last time the printer worked fine?
  • Did any software changes take place after which the printer stopped working?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix: 

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

Now, please reset the printing system in Mac.

 

If the printer still does not print then download and install the HP Easy Start.
