HP Deskjet 2540
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently changed routers and now cannot get my HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer to print wirelessly via the new router. The printer is connected to the correct network (but the configuration page says "Not connected" to the Internet?) and its network status is "Ready"; active connection type is "Wireless." It shows up as a printer option when I'm trying to print from my computer, but when I try to print to it I receive an error message saying that the printer is "In an error state."

I literally know nothing about printers, so I don't really know what to do. Any ideas? Or questions that might lead to ideas?

I disconnected the printer from the power source (while the printer was on) and then reconnected it and it magically works now.

Have you tried to restore network settings to default settings.

Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for 5 seconds.

I've done this once and then reconnected it to my router and it didn't work 😕

Have you tried running the HP print & scan doctor program? (link)

I ran the program and it did not find anything wrong with the printer. I was able to successfully print a test page. However, I then tried to print a different page and received an error saying that the printer was having "communication" issues. I ran the program a second time and once again it did not find anything wrong with the printer, but this time it was unable to print a test page at all.

Do you have the latest firmware on the 2540 > CBP1FN1547AR?
