Hey, I've just bought a HP Deskjet 2542 and installed in via wireless connection to my computer. I have done alignment of cartridges and cleaning of ink heads but when I print some text comes out perfect and a lot of it is missing or the bottom of the letter are cut off but the next line is fine again,as if it can only print on some places on the page. how could I fix this?

Hello @Nadia0697,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I see you are running into some print quality issues on your HP Deskjet 4542, sometimes when you print there is missing text or the bottom of the letters are cut off but the next line is fine again.
It sounds as though it just needs a good cleaning, please start troubleshooting your print quality issues here: Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Deskjet 1510, 2540, and ...
Please complete ALL steps listed above and let me know the outcome, I will watch for you reply.
I hope this helps!

I just brought home this same printer and I am having the exact same issue. I ran the align ink cartridges, clean ink cartridges, and printed the print diagnostics page. It said it worked each time but all the prints had partial limes missing.

Hi, I solved this issue on mine by changing in the settings the type of paper, it sounds very wierd that just changing in the setting the type of paper used fixes this issue but it does. Chnage the paper type from 'normal' to 'best type of paper'' , as a friend of mine explained to me it changes the pressure of the printer that it puts on the paper or something like that 🙂

It worked for me too! THANK YOU. I tried everythin else. Changing the type of paper from "normal" to "HP Premium Paper" solved the blank lines problem. In my case it printed one line and skipped then ext one (using 1.5 as separation). Now it prints slooowly but it does! Thank you!
PD: My printer is a HP F2400 working only with an original black 60 cartridge but refilled.
