My HP Deskjet 2545 printer would not print from the computer. I tried some of the tips I read from the community posts regarding the 2540 series but the printer will only be able to print a test page. When I try to print an actual document, it would initially show "1 document pending" on the printer tray icon then the printer will make a short sound as if cleaning the print head then the printer tray icon will show "0 documents pending". No printout will be produced.
I have tried unplugging the printer and stopping the print spooler and clearing the Win32 spool printer files and shutting down the pc but to no avail. I also tried to remove the printer from the printer list then re-added it.
I'm on Windows 8.1 x64 and using the wireless option for the printer (because the usb wire connector was lost).
Hoping for any assistance

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:
Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor: https://hp.care/2JyaC93
If the issue persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Good day.
Sorry for the late response.
I have tried using HP Print and Scan Doctor (no problems were found) and reinstalling the printer driver using the steps you provided but the printer still cannot print documents from the laptop. However, it could print documents and pictures from my mobile phone using the wireless printing option.
I have also read on the Windows Update Website that they detected a print spooler problem with their latest update for windows 8.1 and windows 10. Although the site said that they already released an update to solve the issue, I still haven't seen the update for my laptop. Any suggestions to help me get back on printing again from the laptop?

Thank you for the response.
Check for any pending Windows update on the PC
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
This printer supports 2.4GHz network only.
Check and restart print spooler service
Refer to step 1 mentioned in this document.
Try installing the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know how.
Keep me posted.
