Deskjet 2630

I am trying to print from my HP laptop using HP Smart.  

 

Initially, HP Smart just said that the status of my Deskjet 2630 was "unknown."  I completely uninstalled it, and HP Smart.  I reinstalled HP Smart and went through the initial setup of the printer again.  It reinstalled but still didn't connect properly.

 

I downloaded HP Print and Scan Doctor, which reported that it resolved multiple issues.  After a restart, I tried to print a test page, then an internal test page - no luck. Neither of them printed, and the software sent me here.  Interestingly, each time I hit print, my printer's power button flashes like it's receiving information, but nothing happened.

 

In desperation, I tried printing an alignment page from HP Smart - IT WORKED.  So I tried printing a PDF document from the "Print Documents" button in HP Scan.  Again, the power button flashed and the icon changed in HP Scan to say that the printer was busy - but nothing printed. 

 

Any advice before I chuck it out the window?

Are you able to copy?

 

Try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

 

Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
