The issues started when I connected my printer to the computer (HP smart)...I couldn't go through the setup, so I used a cable to complete it, which was deemed successful. But as soon as I start printing, after a page (or two, if lucky), the printing stops, and all lights on the printer "screen" begin to flash (power, cartridge, information, and paper tray buttons). I restarted the printer, turned it off, and plugged it out of the power source, but nothing worked, it does the same, I managed to shut down the printer and get it running again, it prints a page and the problem reappears. How can I solve this problem?
Thank you very much in advance for support.
Kind regards,
Adel

Hi @Adel_01
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing an issue where your HP DeskJet 2710e printer stops printing and the lights start flashing after a few pages. This is often a sign of an internal error, such as a paper jam, issue with the ink cartridges, or a problem with the printer’s settings or connection. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- First, power off the printer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source for about 60 seconds to allow it to reset.
- After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it back on.
- Check if the flashing lights still appear after printing a page.
2. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Even if you don't see an obvious jam, there may be small bits of paper or debris causing an issue.
- Open the printer's paper tray and cover, and inspect the paper path carefully.
- If you find any stuck paper or debris, gently remove it, making sure the paper path is clear.
3. Inspect and Reinstall Ink Cartridges
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and seated properly.
- Turn off the printer, then remove the ink cartridges and check for any protective packaging (like a plastic tape or cover) that may have been missed.
- Reinstall the cartridges carefully and ensure they are securely in place.
- Check the cartridge contacts for any ink build-up or dirt. Clean them gently using a dry lint-free cloth.
4. Check the Paper Tray
- Ensure that the paper in the tray is not jammed, misaligned, or overloaded. The printer may signal an error if the paper is not properly aligned.
- Make sure you are using the correct paper size and type.
- Try removing the paper from the tray and reloading it, making sure it’s stacked properly and the paper guides are snug against the edges.
5. Update Printer Drivers and HP Smart Software
- Sometimes, the issue could be with the drivers or software. Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app and printer drivers installed on your computer.
- Open the HP Smart app, and check for any updates for both the app and the printer firmware.
- You can also visit HP’s website and download the latest drivers for your DeskJet 2710e printer.
6. Check for Firmware Updates
- Firmware issues can cause problems like the one you’re describing. Check for any available updates for your printer's firmware.
- You can check this through the HP Smart app or by going to the HP support website for your printer model.
I hope this helps.
