HP DeskJet 2720e All-in-One Printer

Hi,

Trying to print a pdf double sided. Printer only supports manual double sided printing. The document consists of 8 pages. It stops after the first page so I can reload the paper to print on the other side (which it does successfully), but then it automatically prints out the other remaining 6 pages one after another i.e. without pausing to enable printing on the reverse side of each page.

I'm printing from a Windows 11 laptop using HP Smart.

Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Hi @DaveW4,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're trying to manually print a double-sided PDF document on your HP Deskjet 2720 printer, but it's not behaving as expected. Here are some steps you can follow to manually print double-sided with your printer.

Open the PDF Document: Open the PDF document you want to print with a PDF reader like Adobe Acrobat Reader or your default PDF viewer.

Access the Print Dialog: Go to the "File" menu and select "Print" to open the print dialog box.

Select the Printer: Make sure your HP Deskjet 2720 is selected as the printer.

Adjust Print Settings: Look for an option like "Properties" or "Printer Properties" within the print dialog. Here, you should be able to set the printer to manual double-sided printing. Typically, there will be a setting like "Duplex Printing" or "Two-Sided Printing." Select "Manual" or "Short Edge (Top)" to enable manual duplex printing.

Print the First Side: Click the "Print" button to print the first side of the pages. The printer should stop after printing the first side of each page, prompting you to reload the paper.

Reload the Paper: When prompted, take the printed pages, flip them over, and reload them into the printer's input tray. Make sure they are oriented correctly, with the printed side facing down.

Continue Printing: After reloading the paper, the printer should automatically print the second side of each page. Make sure not to interrupt the process until all pages are printed.

Complete the Print Job: Once the second side of all pages is printed, collect your double-sided document.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
