We replaced the black ink cartridge and after it was replaced there was an error message saying tricolor cartridge problem. And then at another point it said there was an alignment error.

Are you using HP genuine ink cartridges?
Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document to resolve the issue with the ink cartridge - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge
Make sure the protective plastic tape from the new ink cartridge is removed before placing it in the printer.
