Product: HP deskjet 6400

I noticed a solid amber light at first in the area that the paper comes out from. I restarted the printer as it displayed as offline.

 

On restart, there was a solid white line instead (not blinking).

 

I have tried unplugging for several minutes and holding the power button for >30 secs then restarting but after the initial green light while starting up, it returns to this solid white light. 

 

I also changed the cartridges and paper just in case. 

 

Also,  Hp smart was malfunctioning so i reset it. After which, i can no longer re-add my printer as it is "offline"

 

Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.
