When I ran HP Print and Scan Doctor, 'Wrong Printer Port Configured' error message comes up when it gets to Port Match step. HP Print and Scan Doctor was downloaded rom HP site to assist in diagnosing the printer problems.
I have HP Deskjet D1341 connected to HP laptop running Windows XP. The printer is conneted via UBS. It used to work fine now it goes 'Offline' and power light starts too blink when a print job is sent to it. Powering the printer 'Off' and 'On' or 'disconnecting and 'reconnecting' it has not resolved the isssue.
In printer properties, under 'Port' tab USB is marked as the port with 'Discription' - 'Virtual printer port for USB.
How do I resolve this Port issue?

Thank you Sandytechy20.
Printer is now working.
It was always set as the default printer.
In the step 1 of the 'Manual steps to solve the problem' -
The only thing I did was to switch to one of the other printers as the default printer and then switched back to the Deskjet D1341 as the default. Then printed a test page and it printed.
One thing I noticed today was when I turned on the printer, the power light came 'on' and stayed 'on' and did not start to blink. For the last few days it used to start blinking whenever I turned the power 'on'. However when I started having the 'offline' issue, it used to come on solid and then used to start blinking when the printer went 'offline'.
I had the this non-printing issue couple of times before in last 4-6 months but it got resolved by turning the power 'off' and 'on' and/or disconnecting the printer and reconnecting it again, just playing around and trying different things. This time I could and therefore posted the issue on the forum.
I am wondering if it a hardware issue as the printer is old.
I did not try the manual process before and opted for the automated 'Print Doctor' route as it was less painful, faster and less prone to my making a mistake.
Anyway, the printer is now working. Thanks for your help.
Cheers and regards.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Deskjet D1341 Printer. I understand that your printer goes offline when you try to print, and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
- Set the default printer and unpause printing.
- Reset the printer and check the connection status.
- Make sure the correct port is selected.
- Create a manual connection.
- Reinstall the printer using HP Printer Assistant.
Click here to refer the document and perform troubleshooting steps to fix this issue.
