Hello,
I just bought a HP Deskjet GT 5810. It copies completely fine. I installed the software on the CD that came with it. When I attach it to the laptop, most of the times it the laptop says that the USB device hasn't been recognised and occasionaly it does recognise it as 'HP Deskjet GT 5810'.
Then when I try to print with it I get the following message:
"Unable to communicate with printer
Try the following:
1. Turn off printer and then on again.
2. Make sure all cables are securely connected OR make sure your wireless connection is working.
3. Click "Fix" to run HP Print and Scan Doctor and automatically fix these problems."
I have tried all 3 steps and they haven't worked. The Print and Scan Doctor usually isn't able to communicate with the printer. And the times it does communicate with it tells me it fixed an issue with "The device online". But when I do a test print it does not print.
By the way, very occasionally it does print but stops half way through the job. For example I would print 50 pages, and after 20 or so it would stop printing.
Thanks for your time.

Hi @Hagar89,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are unable to connect your HP Deskjet GT 5810 to your computer.
This issue could occur if the drivers are not installed properly.
Let's go through a few steps to uninstall and reinstall the drivers:
Step 1: Uninstall the Drivers:
Please follow the steps provided to uninstall the printer software in the link: Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows)
Also, please follow the steps provided below to completely remove the printer software from printer properties.
Steps to remove printer driver files from Print Server Properties:
1. Open the Print Server Properties dialog window by doing any one of the following:
(a). Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, type in 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then press Enter or click OK.
(b) From the Start menu or the Start screen and open Devices and Printers. Select any printer and then click "Print server properties" at the top of the window. Click on the Drivers tab.
2. Select the printer driver you wish to uninstall.
3. Click the Remove button.
4. Select "Remove driver and driver package" and click OK.
Step 2: Download and install the Drivers from the link: Full Feature Software and Drivers
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.
