HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3835

Good day, I bought the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3835 yesterday and installed the software.  (By the way the guy at the store ensured me 10 times that this wireless printer work with bluetooth that I found out did not!) The printer is discoverable in the Wifi area and I can print directly to printer from my computer but when I open the HP Deskjet Icon and ask to scan a document, it keeps on telling me HP Deskjet 3830 series not found.  I don't have internet or set up to wifi.

Hi,

To verify, are you connecting directly to your pritnter via WiFi direct? (connected to teh HP-Direct SSID)?

Can you access the printer via http://192.168.223.1 once connected to it?

As well right click the Start menu and select Run.

type services.msc and press OK

Locate the Windows Image Acquisition Service (WIA) and double it to open its processies.

What options do you see within the Dependancies tab?

Hi.  Yes I can connect the print with Direct-CC- in my wifi.  When I go to Windows Image Acquisition Service, the tab give me Remote Procedure Call and when I open that: DCOM server process lander and RPC Endpoint Mapper.

Please perform the following changes and check for any difference:

1. Right click the Start icon and select Run.
2. Type regedit and press OK.
3. Backup your registry as listed under Step 1 below:
   http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03485724
4. Expend the Registry tree to navigate to the following path:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\stisvc
5. On the right pane, right click DependOnService and select Modify.
6. Add the ShellHWDetection value as shown below:
   
7. Press OK and confirm any prompt (The error prompt is expected).
8. Reboot your PC and. ensure you are connected to the WiFi Direct connection of the printer and try scanning again.
