What is the purpose of the HP Device Monitor application, and is it still needed in Mac OS X 10.14?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Thanks for the response, Asmita.

I surmised that the s/w was no longer needed, so I used Terminal to remove it with no ill effects.

Thanks again for the response -- I appreciate it!

Hi @Willie15

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "HP Device Monitor" application.

You don't need "HP Device Monitor" application, this is an outdated software.

Uninstall the "HP Device Monitor" application using these steps - HP Printers - Uninstalling HP Printer Software (Mac)

When you install the full feature printer software on your Mac computer from the HP website, HP Utility current software) installs automatically and should be available.

Download and install the driver from this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
