When I have a problem with my printer (a paper jam in this case), the following message pops up on my computer's screen:

Messages could not be displayed in HP Utility - Message Center because the following file cannot be found: “/Users/Shared/HP/HP Event Store/HPEventStore.hpstore”.

The options to click are "Create" and "Try Again," but both of them just bring up the same window again no matter how many times I click on it.  I have tried going into the HP Utility app to turn off messages and/or notifications, but then another, similar notification comes up too.  If I restart the computer, the message is gone when I log back in, but it's frustrating to have to do that every time.  The message stays at the front of all the windows so that I can't just ignore it.  How do I fix this?

A warm welcome to HP Community!

Removing the exiting printer utility and then installing a compatible utility may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:

1.) On your Mac, click Finder

2.) Click Applications, open HP or Hewlett Packard folder, drag and drop HP Utility to Trash and then empty trash.

3.) Download and install the printer utility available here.

Let me know how it goes!

It's possible that the Shared Folder does not have sufficient permissions. Use the following steps to provide full Permissions to the Shared folder:

1.) Use the steps available here to navigate to User folder.

2.) Open User folder, right click on Shared folder and select Get Info.

3.) Under Sharing and Permissions select Everyone and the Grant Read & Write privileges.
