I cannot print.
The Information report says PRINTER NOT CONNECTED TO INTERNET
Then further down it says: The printer is connected to the WIFI network, the signal strength is excellent.!!
I'm getting very frustrated. i've turned everything off reconnected to the internet, turned things off in different orders, still no joy.
Please can someone help please?

Hi @Wendywoowoo1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems that your HP ENVY 6000 All-in-One Printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network, but it’s not connecting to the internet, which is essential for certain online features like cloud printing or firmware updates. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot this.
Restart Devices (Again)
- Turn off the printer, Wi-Fi router, and computer/mobile device.
- Restart the router first and wait until it’s fully operational (all lights stable).
- Then, turn on the printer and wait for it to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Finally, turn on your computer/device and try to print again.
Check Internet Access
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network has an active internet connection by testing other devices like your phone or laptop on the same network.
- You can also try temporarily disabling the router’s firewall as it might be blocking the printer from connecting to the internet.
Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi
Sometimes, reconnecting the printer from scratch can help:
- On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button simultaneously until the power button light blinks.
- Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your phone or computer and look for the printer’s network (it should start with “HP”).
- Connect to the printer’s Wi-Fi and open the HP Smart app or visit 123.hp.com to reconnect your printer to the network.
Assign Static IP Address
The issue might be related to dynamic IP changes:
- On the printer, print a Network Configuration Page (usually available from the printer’s settings or through the control panel).
- Write down the current IP address.
- Open a web browser and type in the IP address in the address bar.
- Access the printer's embedded web server and navigate to the Networking tab. Look for an option to assign a Static IP (use the same IP shown on the Network Configuration Page).
Update Printer Firmware
Ensure your printer is running the latest firmware:
- If you’re able to access the printer’s embedded web server (using the IP address in the browser), check for firmware updates from the Tools or Maintenance tab.
- You can also update firmware via the HP Smart app if it detects your printer.

Check for IP Conflicts
If multiple devices on your network have similar IP addresses, there might be a conflict:
- Reboot the router and see if it assigns the printer a new IP.
- Alternatively, log into the router settings and check if there are any conflicting IPs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
