My HP ENVY 6000e All-In-One Printer series won’t print the information page I need because it flashes the numbers “4… 3” and the light on the side is Amber and I do not know what to do, I have tried checking the paper or the ink but I can’t figure out what is wrong with it

Hi @Unfoundpumkin,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
The flashing "4... 3" and the amber light on your HP ENVY 6000e All-In-One Printer typically indicate an error related to the printer's status. The numbers and amber light sequence are part of the printer's error code system, which helps identify specific issues. Here's what you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Open the printer's ink cartridge access door and ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed.
- Remove and reinsert the cartridges to make sure they're seated properly.
- Check for any protective tape on new cartridges and remove it if present.
- If the cartridges are low or empty, replace them with new ones.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the input and output trays and inspect inside for any paper jams or obstructions.
- Gently remove any stuck paper without tearing it.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset error states.
Check Printer Cover and Paper Tray:
- Ensure that the printer cover is closed properly.
- Verify that the paper tray is correctly loaded and not overfilled. Make sure the paper is aligned and not curled or bent.
Clear Error Codes:
- Check the printer's display or control panel for any additional error messages or codes.
- Refer to the printer’s user manual or the HP Smart app for specific error codes related to your model.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Unfoundpumkin ,
Please find the remaining steps below.
Restart the Printer:
- Restart the printer by turning it off and then back on. Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can clear minor issues.
Firmware Update:
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Outdated firmware can cause various issues, including error messages.
- You can update the firmware using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
Check for Blockages or Obstructions:
- Look for any obstructions around the printhead carriage that could be preventing it from moving freely.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool on your computer. It can diagnose and fix common printing and scanning problems.
Reset to Factory Defaults:
- If none of the above steps work, consider resetting the printer to its factory defaults. This can sometimes resolve persistent errors. You can do this through the HP Smart app or by referring to the printer's manual for reset instructions.
You may also refer to this document for more information.
If the error persists after trying all these steps, the issue might be more complex (such as a hardware malfunction). In that case, contacting HP phone support
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
