HP ENVY Photo 7855 stopped printing so I tried rebooting. When I turned off & on printer, it would not boot up. It is stuck on the first dot on hp startup screen. I've already tried rebooting, unplugging, and plugging directly to wall out. HP smart app shows printer offline. I am not sure what drivers have been updated to my printer.

Hi @RV532
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 is stuck on the startup screen and won't progress to the menu, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn Off the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet as well.
- Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 1-2 minutes.
- Reconnect: Plug the power cord back into the wall and then reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn On: Press the power button to turn the printer back on.
2. Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions that may be preventing it from starting up properly.
3. Check Connections:
- Ensure that all connections (USB, network, etc.) are secure and not damaged.
4. Firmware Update:
- If you can get the printer to start, check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP support website. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve startup issues.
5. Factory Reset:
- If the printer does start up, you can try to perform a factory reset:
- Go to Settings on the printer's control panel.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance and look for Restore Factory Defaults.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
