My printer has started printing out full sheets of black ink when trying to make a copy. It prints fine when printing from the PC. The issue is only with copy making. It appears that the light in the scanner is not coming on.

I think the scanner component may have gone faulty.
I would request you contact our HP Support team for service/upgrade options.

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!
Let's try these steps:
Step 1: Power Reset
- Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
- Turn the printer on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 60 seconds
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
Step 2: Try a different power source
- Try connecting the printer to a different wall outlet
- Try to make a copy again and check if the scanner light is on and if it moves across while copying
Let me know what happens.
