HP4300 Envy
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I've been using my HP Envy printer with my Apple Mac for several years. Today it will not print either wirelessly or by USB.

It connects & will scan. It will not copy documents either. It has paper & ink. The screen on the printer says printing or copying but it still will not print or copy.

Have tried printing from my phone too & the the same result.

I have powered down & re-started the printer but no change.

I have re-set the printers on my Mac, but feel the problem lies the printer end as it seems to communicate properly.

Any suggestions??

Welcome to the HP support community.

Are you getting any error messages while coping?

Meanwhile:-

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Here are the steps:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.
