Within the past month, my HP 4502 has had problems printing PDFs. All other documents print fine, but PDFs will stop halfway through and hang for at least 10 minutes before completely aborting the print job. Sometimes, it won't even start at all. The printer window says, "Printing ...." but nothing. The printer will print the same exact PDF document from my phone via WiFi without issues.  

 

I have:

*uninstalled - reinstalled

*checked cables

*run HPSmart diagnosis with no errors found

To resolve the issue with your HP 4502 printer not printing PDFs on Windows 11, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

 

Update or reinstall PDF reader: Sometimes, the issue can be with the PDF reader software. Try updating your PDF reader to the latest version or reinstalling it.

 

Print as image: In some cases, printing PDFs as an image can help. To do this, open the PDF file in your PDF reader, go to the Print dialog, and select the option to print as an image.

 

Update printer drivers: Make sure that you have the latest printer drivers installed for your HP 4502 printer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website. Click here

 

Note: This could be a compatibility issue with your current OS. 

 

Check for Windows updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates can include fixes for printing issues.

 

Check printer settings: Verify that the printer settings in your PDF reader are correct, such as paper size, orientation, and print quality.

 

Clear print queue: If there are any stuck print jobs in the print queue, clear them and try printing the PDF again.

 

Restart printer and computer: Turn off your printer and computer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn them back on. This can sometimes resolve issues with the printer and the computer.

 

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a problem with the PDF file itself. Try printing a different PDF file to see if the issue persists. If the problem continues, you may need to contact HP support for further assistance.
