Yellow is printing as pink. I have not made any changes for the printer to behave this way. Test page is fine. I already cleaned and aligned.

Hi @javablues64 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Envy 4500 printer is suddenly printing yellow as pink without any changes made, there could be several reasons for this issue.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the yellow ink cartridge has enough ink. If it's running low or empty, replace it with a new one.

Clean Printhead Manually: Sometimes, automated cleaning may not be sufficient. You can try manually cleaning the printhead. Here's how:

  • Remove the yellow ink cartridge from the printer.
  • Dampen a lint-free cloth or paper towel with distilled water.
  • Gently wipe the printhead to remove any dried ink or debris.
  • Reinstall the ink cartridge and run a test print.

Check for Clogged Nozzles: Clogged nozzles can cause improper ink flow and result in color discrepancies. Most printers have a utility for cleaning the printhead nozzles. Run the printhead cleaning utility through your printer's software or control panel.

Printer Driver Update: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.

Check Printer Settings: Make sure the printer settings haven't been accidentally changed. Check the color settings in your printer software or control panel to ensure they are configured correctly.

Perform a Reset: Resetting the printer to its default settings may help resolve the issue. Refer to your printer's manual or HP's website for instructions on how to perform a reset.
