Sounds ok, but none of the buttons are active, so obiously I can not push the Home button.  Only chinese language on the display.

Thank you for this information.  I have had my HP Envy 4502 for a while and have no idea how the language changed.  I had difficulty finding a solution until I ran across your POST.

Thank YOU!!!  Your post was SO HELPFUL!  Solved my problem after having a lot of difficulty with this issue.  I have had my HP Envy 4502 for almost 2 years and have no idea why the language changed.

My HP ENVY 4502 suddenly changed to Chinese & I followed your instructions, and Voila! I got it back to Engish, Thank  you kindly for posting these.
