Printer is ready with no document in queue.  When I press Print, the printer doesn/t print and indicates that there is an error in the queue screen.

I had no "offline" or "pause" but the printer worked today but very slow.  Hopefully, faster tomorrow.  I had installed the printer assistant and downloaded "Printer Dr for Windows 10.  Keeping fingers crossed

Whilst I could print from Web Pages, PDF's and Applications were failing with no apparent indication of print jobs being sent.  

I found that the service HPNetworkCommunicatorCom only had read access for USERS.  I selected Properties and Security and reset USERS to Full.  This immediately solved the problem for me.
