So, my HP Envy 4520 printer IS on the supported drivers for Win10 list... but needs to be reinstalled every single time I use it.
Every. Single. Time.
Sometimes it "forgets" that colour printing is an option. Sometimes it forgets how to print double-sided papers, a thing it has always been able to do. Suddenly, nope! It can't! I need to *manually* feed the paper into the tray for it to print double-sided pages while it gives me a pop-up prompt to do so.
Test page prints in colour just fine. I just don't have that option with anything else, including Adobe Acrobat, Word, or internet printing. Black and white only, even under Advanced Settings. It only gives me a quality option.
In order to have colour printing again, I have to reinstall the printer completely. Over and over again. I've reinstalled it twice this week.
Then it forgot that it was wireless and gave me an Instant Ink connection error with every document. But it was clearly still printing, so??? Reinstall again. Wired this time. Nope, a few days later, docs started piling up on the print spooler. Everything is connected just fine. It just can't print. Printing to the HP printer suddenly wasn't an option- everything was shifting to XPS. No settings have changed otherwise. But it's under Printers! So I had to reinstall AGAIN.
HP told me that if I wanted this fixed, I had to pay them for a warranty. Hahaha nope. But they have no problems charging my card for their Instant Ink services for all this ruined paper I can't use because nothing has printed correctly... So I need a fix.
And if I have to, I'm getting a different brand of printer.
