macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hi everyone, 

 

I have updated my computer, restarted it, restarted the printer / scanner, reset all my printing systems (restarted my computer) and added the 4520 back in my system preferences.

 

When I try to scan from HP Easy Scan I get "Scanner reported an error: Failed to open a connection to the device"


When I try to scan from the printer, my computer name comes up but I get "Scan Unsuccessful" error 

"Connection has been lost" 

"scan application is currently in use" 

or "an OCR application is not currently installed" 

 

When I try to scan from my Mac's Printers & Scanners, it says it cannot connect "failed to open connection to device (-21345)"

 

The printer works fine as does the copier.

 

Please help!

Hi,

 

Please confirm to ba able to scan from your phone with hp smart app.

If there's no problem in scanning from phone, then update your MacOS to ver 10.15.3 or newer.

 

When this didn't work, please try below:

Scanning from my phone worked! Thank you! 

 

But scanning from mac still isn't working. I updated my OS and am running 10.15.4. 

 

The printer works. Copying works. But there is still the little yellow triangle icon when I try to pull of the scanner
