Hi,

My printer appears to be setup correctly however, every time i restart the job gets stuck and shows the 'Attention Required' status in the printer queue.

If i run the printer trouble shooter it doesn't find anything but before it finishes my printer starts to print.

So it appears to be some type of connection issue.  Every time i restart I have the same problem no matter what application I try and print from.

I have reinstalled all driver /software etc and its made no difference.

Any ideas?

Welcome to  HP support community.

Reset the printer and the computer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically diagnose and resolve printer hardware and connection issues.

Read and respond to the screens in HP Print and Scan doctor to automatically find and fix any printer problem. After you have finished using HP Print and Scan Doctor, try to print.

Hi Sandy,

Unfortunately that didn't work.

If it helps when i run the scan doctor it says its fixed the print queue issue but will only print the internal test page successfully.  The first test page never makes it through.

Then i am asked to uninstall and reinstall etc which i have now done multiple times.

Hi @Sharms

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "Attention Required status in the printer queue" issue.

To better assist you - Are you able to make copies using the printer?

Meanwhile, Cancel the print job

Refer to - Cancel a print job from the printer control panel

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

This might require remote access of the computer to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.
