I had also filed a bug report via the beta feedback for ios 11.  I was reached out to concerning this issue so they are aware of the problem as well.

Oh boy! I spoke a hair too soon. Tried to print a few minutes ago and back to square one. The printer was seeing two devices. I have one. It wasn’t printing. Reset printer again and it works. I’m not sure but I think the phone keeps morphing so the printer sees it as new, the phone sees the printer as wrong, etc. had to clear printer memory and old printer from phone “(hit forget printer in WiFi settings on phone ) there isn’t stable recognition. But if you really need to print, this workaround does work. I printed my document again today. A pox on hp and Apple.

Got it sorted. Turned off IP6 on the printer. Nothing else on the printer and nothing on the iOS devices. And it worked.

I’m thinking ipv6 might be integral to this issue. I mentioned this in my bug submittal to Apple.

Additional,  but perhaps related, solution from Apple forums........

  • in your iOS device, go to settings/Wi-fi
  • Click in the “i” next to your  network
  • choose “forget network”
  • reconnect to network
  • printing is reported as then working ok

Turning off the IPv6 address fixed it. A least, it was the last thing I did before my I phone could print.
