No problems placing the photo paper in the tray, it’s lined up in the right place but photos are only being printed out with half or less of the complete image. No issues printing A4 documents (not tried A4 photo). I print wirelessly from my iPad, no issues sending the photos to the printer.

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand the printer is not printing the complete photo on a 4x6 photo paper. Not to worry, I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:

Are you using an HP Photo paper?

Have you tried printing from another device?

Have you tried copying a photo on a 4x6 photo paper?

Are you printing using AirPrint or HP Smart App?

Let me know!

In answer to your questions -

No I’m not using HP photo paper

I have printed from another device (a laptop) but the photo was small (my error with sizing) but it was complete

Yes I have managed to copy the photo on to 6x4 photo paper

I have been using both AirPrint and HP Smart app to print photos

Let's try adjusting the print settings, here is how to do it:

1.) Open HP Smart App, touch Print photo.
2.) Select the document that you want to print.
3.) Touch the Settings icon located on top right.

4.) Touch Paper, touch Size and select 4x6.

5.) Touch Type and select Photo Paper.

6.) Touch Resize&Move and select Fill Page.

7.) Touch Done located on top right and touch Print.

Let me know how it goes!

It looks like you are using 8.5x11 or A4 paper. Have you tried printing on a 4x6 photo paper?

Spoiler

Hi, no that’s 4x6 photo paper, it’s a close up of it that’s why it looks big. I’ve tried resetting the printer and uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app and photos are still being half printed on the 4x6 photo paper ☹️

Updating the printer firmware and iOS may resolve the issue. You use the steps available in the link below to update iOS and printer firmware:

Update iOS

Update printer firmware

Once you update iOS and printer firmware, restart printer, iPad and then try to print.

Have done as you suggested and it’s still not printing a full photo. I’ve attached a photo of what it has printed. The 4x6 photo is placed on a piece of A4 to show the scale. FB60D9B6-175B-457D-89EC-0DE012F4C1D6.jpeg
