HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

I have a HP Envy 5055 printer that I bought new a couple years ago.  Today, I was printing some pdf documents, one at a time, and after approximately (15) 1-2 page documents had successfully printed, the next document got stuck mid-feed, every light on the printer started flashing, and the display read "Error Code OXB89DCA38".

Does anyone know what this code means (or where I can go to look it up)?  Anyone know how to fix the problem and clear the code?  Thanks for considering!

Hi @JenY0920,

I'd like to help!

I understand you are receiving an "OXB89DCA38" error on the printer screen.

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

To restore the printer to the original factory defaults

1. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, swipe left to see ( Setup ) and touch ( Setup ).

2. Touch Tools, touch Restore Factory Defaults, and then follow the onscreen instructions

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
