Hi there

We have a HP Envy 5032 which is printing fine from an Iphone but not printing from the Macbook.... it says it's not connected.

 

But it is scanning which doesnt really make sense to a luddite like me!

 

Can anyone help? Many thanks Elaine

Thank you for being a part of HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

It sounds like an issue with the printer driver installed on your Mac. Removing the existing driver and adding AirPrint driver may resolve the issue, let's try these steps:

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign  to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button  at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

6.) Try to print and scan.

My HP envy 5032 printer will not print from my computer. Keeps saying printer in error state. It will scan but it won't print what I have scanned. It is connected correctly as I can print from my Android.

To be able to provide you with an accurate solution, I would like to know the following:

  • What is the Operating system installed on your computer?
  • Is it an issue with a particular application or all applications?
  • Is there any error message when you try to print?
