HP Envy 5032

I have owned the 5032 for two months and it has been non-stop problems.

1) It will not scan. I have re-loaded drivers numerous times and it still refuses to scan either USB or Wireless

2) On initial set-up, it would not print until I had printed and copied a test print over 20 times

Now all computers read the printer as off-line although it is not.

Please advise how I return the product. I tried to call but nobody answers, I sent emails but guess what.....nobody answered them.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  1. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  2. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

    • If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.

    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  3. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

  4. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

  5. Try to print.

Assign a manual IP address and that should fix the issue.

  1. Make sure there is U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Setup icon .

  3. Touch Tools.

  4. Swipe down the display, and then touch Network Configuration Page.

  5. Find IP Address on this page

Setting a Static IP Address

Once you know your printer’s IP address, entering it is pretty easy. Here’s what you do:

HP Printer Static IP Address

  1. Run your Web browser.
  2. In the Web browser’s address bar, type the IP address of your printer and press Enter. Assuming you entered the right address, the HP printer control panel should appear.
  3. Click the Networking tab.
  4. Under Connections, click Wireless.
  5. Under IP Address Configuration, click Manual IP.
  6. Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in the appropriate boxes.
  7. Click Apply.

Tried the above and it still does not work.

How do I get my money back? PC World are telling me to speak to you, or they will need to send it away to you for six weeks.  Is this honestly how your customers are treated?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
