Hi. My printer prints in colour, but mostly not in black. By mostly, I mean it partially prints. I have attached a photo of a quality report page. I installed a new black cartridge, did all the cleaning options my printer offered, installed/uninstalled printer, installed updates in software and firmware. Another photo of my 2 cartridges shows (to the right) what looks like the printheads. They're clean. Underneath that mechanism is a bit of a pool of black gunk (seemingly released from the black cartridge when it's in position above that mechanism). I cleaned some of that out, but it's hard because it's a tar-like substance and afterward, the quality of my prints didn't change at all. Any ideas on if this is fixable and how? Thank you.

Hi @lllkwelll ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already taken several troubleshooting steps to address the issue of your HP Envy 5055 printer not printing black properly. Since you've cleaned the printheads and removed excess ink, and you've also replaced the black cartridge,
There are a few additional steps you could try:
Deep Cleaning: Some printers offer a deep cleaning option that goes beyond the regular cleaning cycle. This can sometimes help dislodge stubborn clogs in the printhead.
Printhead Alignment: Ensuring that the printhead is properly aligned can sometimes improve print quality, especially if alignment issues are causing certain nozzles to misfire.
Manual Cleaning: While you've cleaned the printheads, there may still be residual ink or debris blocking the nozzles. You can try using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the printheads.
Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Software and Drivers for HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Gayla, Can you please close this? I already said that advice given was not useful and that I bought a new printer. I can't "accept as solution" because I don't. I thank you for trying to help, but don't want to talk about this any more as the printer is now in the garbage and this whole thing is a non-issue.
