Hi. I've had a HP Envy 5530 (with instant ink) for several months now. I have it setup wirelessly. I can print test pages and diagnostic pages, but can not print documents, ie, word docs, pdf's, images etc.
I can see the printer in devices and printers. It is selected as the default printer. It is the only connected printer.
I can use all utilites such as checking ink levels, settings via web browser, calibration, test pages, diagnostics etc.
I currently have wireless direct and Bonjour services turned off.
My wifes laptop works fine with the printer.
I've tried uninstalling everything and trying again. I've tried the latest drivers, but nothing I try gets it to work.
I only changed to a HP printer from Canon to take advantage of the Instant Ink system, which I like, but I really wish I hadn't.
Please help.

Wow...much to my suprise this worked!
The steps are not quite the same as you describe, so I guessed a bit;
( if printer is on Network, )
Add printer -> Add local printer -> Create a new port -> Standard TCP/IP port -> Hostname or IP address (I enter my printers IP) -> ....
Then I can select HP -> Deskjet 6980 series -> ......
Then I am asked if I want to replace current driver with this. On selecting next the new driver is installed and set as default.
Thank you for your help. I never would have worked this out on my own. It really should not be this difficult.
Although this is a work around I will accept this as a solution.

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried this before but I'll try it again.
Upon running the HP print and scan doctor, the program can see my printer, then leads me through the process of reconnecting to my wireles network, but still does not print anything.
The printer is showing as available and ready in devices and printers, it is selected as the default. Any program I open shows it as the selected printer. But when I select print nothing happens. I do not get any mesasge saying can't print, just nothing gets printed.

Hello,
Please find below the steps that should atleast let you printing.
( if the printer is connected with USB )
Click START > Device and Printer > Add a Printer > Add a local printer >
Select "Use Existing Port " then Virtual USB from drop down , Click NEXT, in the Manufacturing list , select HP / Hewlett packard, and from the right pane , select Deskjet 6980 and complete the wizard
OR
( if printer is on Network, )
Click START > Device and Printer > Add a Printer > Add a local printer > Select "Create a New Port" > type in the Printer's IP address Click NEXT, in the Manufacturing list , select HP / Hewlett packard, and from the right pane , select Deskjet 6980 and complete the wizard
Now try printing from lotus and hopefully it should work.
