Hey, I got an Envy 6000 printer less than a month ago (not sure if it's an InkJet or a LaserJet; doesn't say anywhere online, so sorry if I put this in the wrong place).
My printer will not print without me restarting it first. I checked, and it's connected to the same network as my computer and is in fact in the same room as my computer, but it says it's offline. The blue light is steady, so even the printer seems to think it's connected to the wifi, but it's not. Even if I restarted it just a few hours ago, I have to do so again to get it to connect to my computer and print. Nothing to do with my router or wifi. Once the printer restarts, it hops right onto the network and is ready to go.
It's a blessing in disguise, since I've gotten into the habit of switching it off at night and saving energy. But it's a pain when I'm in a rush, or if there's only an hour or two between print jobs and I've left it on. Not a huge complaint since it's such an easy fix, but was stressful at first when I couldn't figure out how to fix it and spent wads of time unplugging my router, trying to resolve the issue on HP Smart, trying to reconnect the printer to the wifi, looking up stuff on forums, etc. And now I'm just peeved; it's easy, but it's a step I shouldn't have to take. Do I really have to restart the printer every time I print? Seems kind of stupid for a nice printer to have such an flaw. I don't even want to think about the issues I'll have with it down the road if this is what it does fresh out of the box. Anyone know if there's anything else I can do?

The HP Envy 6000 series printers are "Inkjet" printers.
Category Product Information > Select Specifications
Open the Specifications document for your printer model

What else?
Not sure how Mac (or apple routers) feel about SSID network names.
In the case of Windows, at least, (and iPad lets you connect to the SSID named network you select)...
If your network is running both 2.4GHz and 5GHz,
Assign a separate SSID network name to each bandwidth.
Connect your printer to the appropriate SSID named network.
