Try these steps:
Basic Reset:
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, then reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and check if it goes past the initialization screen.
Hard Reset:
- While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and the printer.
- Power on the printer using the power button.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. If possible, check HP's website for any firmware updates specific to the Envy 6234.
Inspect for Paper Jams or Obstructions:
- Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer that could be causing the startup issue.
Reconnect USB or Network Cables:
- Temporarily disconnect any USB or network cables to see if they might be causing the printer to freeze during initialization.
