H, My printer is stuck on the initialisation screen. I've tried unplugging etc but it won't restart. Any suggestions? I think it needs some sort of reset?

Thanks

Hi @D_R_M42,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding startup issues with the HP Envy 6234 printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Basic Reset:

  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, then reconnect it to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and check if it goes past the initialization screen.

Hard Reset:

  • While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and the printer.
  • Power on the printer using the power button.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. If possible, check HP's website for any firmware updates specific to the Envy 6234.

Inspect for Paper Jams or Obstructions:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer that could be causing the startup issue.

Reconnect USB or Network Cables:

  • Temporarily disconnect any USB or network cables to see if they might be causing the printer to freeze during initialization.

I hope this helps.
