@po0891, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding "Open Door" Notice on HP ENVY 7640 and 7650 Printers!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Envy 7640 or 7650 printer is showing an "open door" notice even after replacing the ink cartridges, please follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue:

Verify Proper Closure of Access Door

  1. Ensure the Ink Cartridge Access Door is Completely Closed:
    • Open the ink cartridge access door again.
    • Firmly close the door to ensure it snaps securely into place.
    • Make sure no obstructions are preventing the door from closing entirely.

Ensure Cartridges Are Properly Installed

  1. Check Cartridge Placement:
    • Open the ink cartridge access door.
    • Remove each cartridge and reinsert them, ensuring they are seated properly and securely in their respective slots.

Restart Printer

  1. Power Cycle the Printer:
    • Turn the printer off using the power button.
    • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
    • Wait at least 15 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
    • Turn the printer on again.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
